Welcome to the Intern Tracker Site

The purpose of Intern Tracker is to assist the various people involved in the student employment process to document the various activities and to provide a mechanism that will help the various people involved in the process to know their duties and help them perform those duties. Basically, Intern Tracker is a work flow management application specialized for managing the work flows associated with an internship program in an institute of higher education.
Student employement programs are used by a large number of higher education institutions incorporating work experience within the educational curriculum. There are three major types of student employement used in higher education:

1. internships in which a student is a part time, temporary employee for an organization
2. cooperative student in which a student is a full time, temporary employee for an organization
3. practicum in which a student is a part time, temporary employee for an organization.

This project is supported by the Open Source Development Group of Georgia Southern University's College of Information Technology. The Open Source Development Group is comprised of students from the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Information Systems, and the Department of Information Technology.
